BELONG.

Whether your just exploring faith, new to the area or looking for a new church home, Gateway is a place where you can belong and call home.

One of the best ways to connect in to Gateway life is to join a Life Group. They’re a great context for deep friendship, encouragement, prayer and building genuine relationships for those that aren’t yet part of the church family.

We meet across Basingstoke and beyond in multiple locations at lots of different times so there’s almost sure to be one that suits you. There are two types of Life Groups… Connect and Grow.

Connect groups are based on interests, activities or stages of life and are a great way to get introduced to friendly faces if you’re new or have friends who want to connect in. Grow groups are a chance to go deeper in friendship, prayer, studying the Bible - a place to grow what it means to follow Jesus and make him known.

For more info about any of the Life Groups or to sign up please email .

Alliance Groups - We believe that it’s people - and not programmes - that are the primary way we grow. That’s where Alliance Groups come into play: these are groups three friends that meet together regularly to help one another grow as a Christian with real openness, stability and longevity. If that sounds a bit “heavy” then we get that… there’s no pressure to join an Alliance, you most likely find a group emerges once you are confident that Gateway is your new home.

Youth

Gateway wants to inspire the next generation to love God, love others and change the world for the better. We run “Encounter” on a Sunday morning as well as an Encounter life group on Thursday night for anyone in school years 7 to 11.

The Youth also spend a week away each August as the Newday Festival along with several thousand other young people. You can find out more about Newday here.

Westpoint

Each year over the August Bank Holiday we head down to the Westpoint Show-ground near Exeter along with thousands of others from across the Commission family of churches for great teaching, incredible worship times and to meet with God. Above everything else this four-day festival is an amazing way to build community. The programme is packed with non-stop actives for families. You can find out more about Westpoint here.

’18 conference.

The 18 Conference is the name for our annual ‘Mission’ conference for the whole church, the first of which will be running 11th and 12th May '19.

The name reflects the extent of our mission field. “Whether it is 18 minutes across town, 18 miles away or 18 hours on a plane.  This is our playground.”  The purpose of the conference is to give us an extended time together, to worship Jesus, be inspired and meet with God in a life changing way. We will be focussing on how to radically ‘stay’, and how to radically ‘go’ wherever God would want us to be.

You can book a place at this years '18 conference here.

Teams

It’s people giving of their time and resources than enables Gateway to do all it does. We have a range of opportunities for people to get involved and grow through serving on Sundays and through the week. Joining a team is a great way to belong, learn about your gifts, serve God… it’s the small ways that people serve - making coffee, mixing music, lifting boxes, being there to say hello - that make a big difference in enable others to explore faith and find their place in the Gateway family.
